Glenfield students have the opportunity to experience a wide-range of exciting elective classes, World Language offerings and/or supplemental Reading, Math or LA intervention classes during 3 elective periods.
- Period 1 is a multi-grade elective and Period 2 and Period 3 are 8th grade only electives.
- All intervention classes are scheduled with priority; students are then scheduled for elective classes where schedules allow.
- Study Skills is scheduled during Period 1, the multi-grade elective. Some students may be eligible to take Study Skills one day (A or B days) and another elective the other day, once discussed with In-Class Support Teacher and Child Study Team Case Manager.
- 8th Graders will have the option to take Geometry Period 2 or Period 3 if they have met the eligibility requirements of an Algebra A grade of 87 or higher and Teacher Recommendation. Geometry will meet daily (A and B days) and is taken in addition to the Algebra B core class.
- Please note that only elective courses listed on this form are offered to 8th graders.
