Sunday, Feb. 12 | 2:45 - 4:15 pm ET | Renaissance Hotel, Washington DC
Join us for a hands-on interactive learning session on wholesale power markets. You will have an opportunity to step into the shoes of power generators and electricity suppliers, experiencing first-hand how laboratory economics experiments can aid in informing regulatory policy.
The Staff Subcommittee on Electricity is seeking commissioners and commission staff to serve as team captains and co-captains for the simulation. As a captain/co-captain, you will be in control of a Microsoft Surface tablet running the simulation. You are encouraged to discuss decisions with your team members before inputting your choices. This event is free and open to all registered NARUC meeting attendees - if you are not a commissioner or commission staff, your participation as a team member is encouraged.
No advance knowledge or equipment is required to be a captain/co-captain - just arrive promptly at 2:45 pm ET to listen to a brief orientation from the simulation facilitators, Dr. Lynne Kiesling (University of Colorado Denver) and Dr. Rimvydas Baltaduonis (Gettysburg College).
