Interested in joining TWCD?  Here’s some information about us.

We are a diverse group of women with varying experience levels performing a wide variety of music: Broadway, pop, classical, and international. The one thing we have in common is that we all love to sing!  

Sight reading is highly encouraged but not required. A basic knowledge of music reading (note names and basic rhythms) IS required. If you need to work on your music reading skills, a good resource is https://www.musictheory.net/lessons  In particular, go over all the topics under Basics and Rhythm and Meter.
 
We rehearse on Mondays at 7:00 PM at Sammons Center for the Arts, 3630 Harry Hines Blvd, Dallas, TX 75219. There is one Saturday rehearsal per month, and we rehearse several times during the week leading up to a concert. We perform three subscription concerts each year and we also support the community by performing outreach events during the year.

Open rehearsals are mandatory for all potential new members.  This is your chance to meet the chorus, hear us sing, and see if it feels like a good fit for you.  There is a brief orientation that covers our history, who we are looking for and what becoming a member involves.  Afterwards, you’ll have a chance to sign up to audition at a later date.

At your audition, you'll sing a song of your choice, a cappella, and sing some scales and other exercises for Melinda Imthurn, our Artistic Director. You'll be notified by email with the results of your audition.
