Kids of Mud is committed to providing our athletes, coaches, officials and volunteers with a safe and inclusive environment that fosters and preserves a positive, healthy, and enjoyable experience for all individuals. We embrace our responsibility to cultivate an environment that is free from abuse, harassment and discrimination, and we encourage individuals to feel empowered and comfortable reporting any behaviour that breaches the Provincial Association’s Code of Conduct.
To help ensure that participants in our sport are free of harassment, abuse, and discrimination. The Provincial Associations have committed to the Coaching Association of Canada’s Responsible Coaching Movement and has taken a pledge to implement policies and processes that adhere to three key areas of focus,
- The Rule of Two
- Background Screening (including Criminal Record Checks and Child Abuse Registry); and
- Respect and Ethics Training
As a requirement for coaching with the Manitoba Cycling Association (MCA) and the Kids of Mud program, all Tier 3: Community Trained Coaches must undergo a child abuse registry check (completed every 3 years).
* Please note that applications may take 4-6 weeks to process*
The MCA recognizes the potential financial barriers associated with these checks. To alleviate this burden, this MCA will cover the cost of the Child Abuse Registry Check (CARC).
To receive this benefit;
(1) applications must be completed using the forms provided by the MCA and,
(2) must be submitted for approval by the MCA.
