This month, we are reflecting on "The Washing of the Disciples' Feet." In which Gospel is this story told? *
On a scale of 1-5 (with 1 being the easiest and 5 being the most difficult), how was it for you to find the Scripture passages we asked you to look up? *
In our segment on the Corporal Works of Mercy, Mrs. Lapham explained each of these seven actions, where we find them in the Bible and how they relate to us today. Pick one of the Corporal Works of Mercy and explain how you can live it out. *
Fr. John took us on a tour of the SJE parish grounds where we put into action Jesus' call to "wash the feet" and serve those in need through our Parish Social Ministry. Pick one of the places Fr. John visited and tell us about what is done there and which Corporal Work of Mercy can be linked to it. *
Part of the Gospel message in the washing of the disciples' feet is that not only do we need to serve others, but sometimes, we need to allow others to serve us when we find ourselves in need. Social Worker Joe Conklin spoke about some of the challenges to ask for help. Do you find it difficult to ask for help in your own life? Who do you turn to when you need to ask for help? *
At the end of the video, Fr. John mentioned his favorite Mass of the year, where the Gospel of the washing of the disciples feet is read, and where the priest physically washes the feet of others during the Mass. What Mass is he talking about? *
