Purpose of the project: EXOplorer is a concept app that aims to bring information about exoplanets closer to the general public
Features include:
- Learning about what exoplanets are, history of exoplanet research, notable people involved in research
- Gallery of images associated with exoplanets such as telescopes, artists' rendition of potential planets, etc
- Ability for user to use their own data to confirm the existence of an exoplanet (Powered by Microsoft Machine Learning Studio (classic). Algorithm trained using nerual network regression based on the transit photometry method.
If you participate, you will be asked to:
- Review the UI design of the app. For example, whether the color scheme accomodates those with visual impairment, placement of certain buttons, and the flow of the app.
- Provide feedback on the concept of the app, such as the usabiltiy and signficance of various featrues
- NOTE: Feedback will be given on the DESIGN of the app. NOT THE BACK-END DEVELOPMENT

- Risks are minimal
- Scientific information and images used are taken from credible sources. Any misinformation or discrepancies are not the opinion or thoughts held by the creator of this app.
- Participants are encouraged to complete their own research to confirm any presented facts.
Benefits:
- Improve the UI/UX experience thus allowing for greater accessibility
- Contribute to a research design project that aims to combine astronomy, data science, and machine learning to allow everyone to explore new discoveries
How confidentiality will be maintained:
- Any information reported in this form will only be viewed by the researcher on this project
- Information will NOT be shared for any reason and participants have the option to leave out information they do not feel comfortable sharing
