Hi and thanks for your interest in "Those who take care of us" (working title).

The goal of this documentary photography project is to put in the spotlight those people who are commonly unseen (and, one may argue, not sufficiently valued) but who carry the immense responsibility of raising our children, looking after our sick and caring for our elderly. You're signing up in the early stages so I truly appreciate your involvement. Please note that replying to this form is non-binding, it's simply the beginning of a conversation between you and me.

The first stage of this project is dedicated to caregivers, educators and teachers of children of any age. If you're trusted with other people's children for a living, I would love to hear from you. If you are now retired, but used to work in this field, I would still love to hear from you. There is no demographics that is to be excluded here, in fact the wider diversity I'm able to portray, the better. I speak fluently English, Portuguese, Italian and Spanish, and I'm happy to switch to any of those languages if it would make you feel more yourself :)

I would like to photograph you in your home or place of work. I will also ask you a few questions. It will be a very informal setting; I don't do flash photography and it will be only me, with very little photographic equipment. I envision it as a 1-2h conversation with a new acquaintance who will take some photographs of you. No payment is involved from either party and participation is to be considered totally voluntary.

In order to participate in this project, you must be comfortable with your photographs being shared publicly (online, in an exhibition, etc). It's not necessary that I use your real name, if that makes you uncomfortable. Please feel free to ask me any questions regarding this or any other aspect of the project.
