Early School Closure: Student Information Form
As we anticipate the possibility for seasonal winter weather, there may be circumstances when school is cancelled during the day. This decision will be communicated to all schools as close to 11:00 a.m. as possible via most local radio stations, Social Media (Twitter: @HRCE_NS), and HRCE Notifications (https://www.hrce.ca/notifications)

The following procedures apply to decisions about dismissal of students when school cancellation occurs during the day:

4.3: Written instructions from elementary and junior high parents will be collected indicating where students are to go in the event of an early school closure.

4.4: Principals of elementary schools will ensure that a parent/guardian or designate for each student in Grades Primary to 6 is contacted directly by phone before the student is released from school.

4.5: Principals of elementary schools will ensure that teachers follow these written instructions for early school closure collected from parents unless otherwise directed by the parent/guardian or designated during the phone contact.

4.6: Principals of junior high schools will ensure that teachers follow the written instructions for early school closure collected from this communication.
