Community Feedback on new Dominion School Mascot and Colors
The Dominion Middle School steering committee gathers to honor the historic legacies and traditions of North High School and Dominion Middle School; create a safe and inclusive environment for the entire school and community; reimagine the facilities with a creative, vibrant, and 21st Century vision. Further, the committee pledges transparency, consideration of different viewpoints, and positive advocacy for a safe and inspiring new home for Dominion Middle School.

For the last several months, the steering committee has discussed and considered opportunities created by the reorganization with regard to the current Dominion school name, mascot and colors. Honoring the legacies and alumni of both schools, the steering committee will be making a recommendation to the Columbus School Board to change the mascot and colors of Dominion Middle School from the Blue Devils, navy/royal blue and white to the North Polar Bears, navy, maroon and gold. The steering committee recommends this change to take place beginning in the 2020-2021 school year, when Dominion Middle School relocates to the North High School Building.

The steering committee is seeking feedback from the community on the decision and asks you to take this short survey regarding your thoughts on the decision to reinvent the Dominion Middle School mascot and school colors.
