Thank you for your interest in the virtual Summer 2021 program of The Food Playground!

The Be. Org and Black Girls Cook are teaming up again to host The Food Playground this Summer! The Food Playground will be infuse the principles of STEM with culinary arts. The goal of “The Food Playground” is to provide inner-city adolescent girls of color opportunities to gain confidence and gain hands-on experience in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) practices by exploring ecosystems and food systems. Using a combination virtual and  the program will guide the young ladies through projects that engage them in science practices, encourage life-long habits of health, and give them practice being leaders in their community.

The Food Playground is currently accepting applications from girls of color residing in Baltimore City, who will be in middle school (grades 6-8) when school resumes in September 2021.

Cohort 1: July 12th - July 23rd
Cohort 2: August 2nd - August 13th

Spaces are limited. The deadline to apply is 5 pm, Wednesday, June 30th. Participants will be notified of their acceptance by Monday, July 5, 2021.
