Interested in Becoming a MitoAmbassador?

Our MitoAmbassadors play a crucial role in bringing our vision to life. They’re dedicated volunteers and advocates who embody the spirit of mito-leadership.

As community connectors, MitoAmbassadors build relationships and networks to further MitoCanada's support, fundraising and awareness activities. Your role as a MitoAmbassador can take on many forms depending on your time. Becoming an ambassador gives you the opportunity to help grow the organization, engage your local community and be a voice for Canadians impacted by mitochondrial disease.

To be eligible for this volunteer role, candidates must be personally affected by mitochondrial disease or have a close family member who is.

Each year, up to three individuals are chosen to be MitoAmbassadors program. This program requires a commitment of 12 months from the start date, with a possibility to extend.

We are accepting applications for the MitoAmbassador program until June 30th, 2024. The ambassador term is scheduled to begin in September 2024.
