Musically Fed: Spooktacular - October 28th and 29th
Musically Fed is a 501(c)(3) that works with artists, promoters, management and venues nationwide to donate unused backstage meals to community organizations that feed people facing homelessness, hunger, and food insecurity, and, when possible, provides education on sustainability. We are excited to announce we will be at this year's Spooktacular Hot Air Balloon festival at Salt River Fields!

Musically Fed will be at the festival assisting with a food drive, collecting aluminum cans for recycle, and raising awareness for our mission, which is to mobilize the music and live entertainment industry in the fight against hunger. Please see below for a description of volunteer openings and a list of shifts that are available. The list will be updated as slots fill.

This is a very fun event and anyone that can volunteer for 2 hours gets free admission and can stay for the balloon glow, or receive tickets for the next day.

By volunteering for 2 hours you'll receive admission to the Festival & Balloon Glow, provided snacks/non-alcoholic beverages, and be rewarded with a surprise Halloween treat. Best of all you'll walk away with a feeling of accomplishment knowing you have helped the food insecure.

Volunteer Descriptions and Information

We will need volunteers to staff a Musically Fed table, help collect food items and dry goods at the entrances, and roam / supervise recycling containers.

Food Drive

A team of two volunteers will be needed to collect dry goods and food items for the food drive at each of the two entrances. Doors are from 5:00pm to 9pm and we will have two time slots available on Saturday (see below for more information on these shifts).

Tabling
A team of two volunteers will be needed to staff our table set up inside the festival grounds on Saturday. They will be responsible for passing out information and answering questions.

Aluminum Collection Team
We are providing receptacles where people can deposit their aluminum cans for recycling. Proceeds from the recycling of these cans will go to nonprofits serving veteran and indigenous communities in The Valley. Ten volunteers will be needed to roam the grounds and supervise the collection.

All positions and shifts are unpaid volunteer-based and will be at Salt River Fields (7555 N Pima Rd, Scottsdale, AZ). Volunteers must be 18 and older or accompanied by an adult. Volunteers may be cut early based on work volume and/or at the shift supervisor’s discretion. All volunteers will have time to view the balloons. Water and snacks will be provided.

*Note all positions require standing. There are some instances where it may be necessary to lift no more than 50 lbs. Accommodations will be provided for those that are not able to do so.  Please note parking is free, but it is first come first serve so you may want to consider public transportation or a ride sharing service.
