New Haven Board of Education Climate Emergency Resolution Sign On Letter
We're extremely concerned about the climate crisis and its growing disastrous effects. As Governor Lamont said recently, “Climate change is here, and it’s only going to get worse if we don’t take meaningful action.”

In response, we are currently taking initiative to pass the Climate Emergency Resolution through the New Haven Board of Education. The Resolution recognizes the climate threats children and families face through the school system and moves the Board to make plans to create an efficient response to the climate crisis. This proposed resolution follows the 2019 passage by the New Haven Board of Alders of NHCM’s Climate Emergency Resolution.

In the face of this unprecedented challenge, we must all take significant action. Through this initiative, we believe we have the opportunity to create a more just, healthy, resilient, and sustainable New Haven. We have the opportunity to provide a safe world for our children, who are the future of this world. We urge the Board of Education, with support from you, to pass this BoE Climate Emergency Resolution.
