The off campus program is a valued pillar of Hanover High School. Through providing students and families with the opportunity to have off-campus privileges, HHS helps students become more responsible, organized, and well-rounded graduates.
At HHS, off-campus privileges are currently given to all 10th, 11th, and 12th graders at HHS who are granted parental permission (given once, not every time the student wishes to leave), among other qualifying factors. Off-campus privileges include having the opportunity to sign out and leave school grounds during unscheduled time. Currently, 9th grade students are expected to be at school from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (to 2 p.m. on Wednesdays). Any 9th grade student who needs to leave school for an appointment must have a note from a parent. This proposed change would allow 9th grade students to go off campus during unscheduled time the second semester of their 9th grade year, with a blanket parental permission.
