2024-25 PTA Board Positions
Please select a position you are interested in holding next school year at Haslet Elementary. Both Executive and committee positions are listed as well as a short description of each. Executive board positions will be voted in by PTA members during our general meeting in March/April. All other positions will be appointed.

Executive Board- President:

Responsible for leading PTA toward specific goals chosen by its members. Creates agendas for and is presiding officer at Board and Association meetings. Works with other PTA leaders to connect families, school and community to support student success.  

Required to attend all meetings and has board voting rights.

Executive Board-  VP- Programs
Works with the President, Treasurer, and school to coordinate programs and special events throughout the school year. (ie School of Excellence, Every Child One Voice, etc)

Required to attend all meetings and has board voting rights.

Executive Board-  VP- Membership:

Responsible for creating and implementing a membership plan, promoting membership throughout the year, submitting monthly membership to TX PTA and providing membership reports at Board meetings.  

Required to attend all meetings and has board voting rights.

Executive Board-  VP- Fundraising:

Responsible for coordinating fundraising efforts across the various PTA fundraisers including, but not limited to, spirit nights, fun runs, and silent auctions.

Required to attend all meetings and has board voting rights.

Executive Board-  Communications:

Publicize the work of the PTA through multiple channels. Website, social media, and email/print newsletter.

Required to attend all meetings and has board voting rights.

Executive Board-  Secretary:

Keeps an accurate, concise, and permanent record of proceedings at all PTA Board and Association meetings. 

Required to attend all meetings and has board voting rights.

Executive Board-  Treasurer:

Is the authorized custodian of all funds of the PTA. Duties include keeping financial records and preparing reports to comply with State PTA policies as well as local, state and federal laws. 

Required to attend all meetings and has board voting rights.

Executive Board-  Parliamentarian:

Appointed by president. Responsible for ensuring bylaws are up to date, assists president with conducting meetings and calls the first meeting of the nominating committee.

Required to attend all meetings and has board voting rights.

Spirit Wear:
Work with vendors to design and order spirit wear in the summer. Keep track of inventory and sales through out the year both through in person events and the online store.

Yearbook:
Work with yearbook company, as well as the school, to create the yearbook through out the school year.

Required to attend all meetings and has board voting rights.
Teacher Appreciation:
Plan and execute various lunches and staff appreciation events through out the school year. 

Required to attend all meetings and has board voting rights.
Volunteer Liaison:
Work with teachers to find grade level reps and room parents for each class. Puts together sign ups for different events. Liaison between PTA board and parent volunteers.

Watch D.O.G.S.
Will monitor all entrances and common areas of the building in support of our student leadership greeting team. 

Required to attend all meetings and has board voting rights.
After School Clubs:
Works with staff and parents to add afterschool clubs to Haslet Elementary. Can be a club that is brought in or parent volunteers that would like to share their talents with students throughout the year.

Reflections:
Promote reflections program in the fall, work with staff to encourage participation, collect submissions and turn in art to district when needed. 

Only required to attend board meetings August - October. Has no voting rights at the board meetings.
Community Partnerships:
Work with local businesses to obtain donations and community PTA memberships. Works closely with Treasurer and VP- Membership.

Event: Fall Festival/Trunk or Treat

Plan and execute Fall Festival/Trunk or Treat

Required to attend September and October board meetings. Has no voting rights at the board meetings.
Event: Breakfast with Santa

Required to attend November board meeting. Has no voting rights at board meetings.
Event: Talent Show

Required to attend December and January board meetings. Has no voting rights at board meetings.
Event: Multicultural Night

Event:
5th Grade Graduation

Plan and execute 5th grade graduation.

Required to attend April and May board meetings. Has no voting rights at board meetings.
