This survey is intended to gather information about the experiences of woman-identified faculty with contra-power harassment, and the impact it has/continues to have.

Contra-power harassment refers to the harassment (intimidation, bullying, threats, sexual harassment) that takes place in situations where the perpetrator has less institutional power than the victim. For instance, between students (perpetrator) and faculty member (victim).

The survey will take approximately 25 to 30 minutes to complete.

You are being asked to participate in this survey because you are currently, or have previously taught at a Canadian post-secondary institution. Woman-identified faculty teaching in any discipline are invited to participate. The lack of available research on contra-power at Canadian universities is significant, and your willingness to share your experiences will help to fill this gap in knowledge.

Participation in the survey is voluntary. You may choose to quit at any time and not submit the survey. You may also decline to answer any questions that cause you discomfort.  Your answers to the survey will remain anonymous. Some of the questions we ask may cause you discomfort or cause you to relive difficult experiences. A list of supports is provided.

The risks associated with completing this survey are minimal and while there are no direct benefits to you if you participate, your willingness to share your knowledge and experiences will help the collection of further information on contra-power harassment and help us to better understand gender-based harassment at post-secondary institutions.

The information we collect will be stored in locked filing cabinets or password-protected computers in the researchers' offices for at least five years. If you have any questions about this research project or the interview, please contact Jennifer Chisholm at (807)  or jen.chisholm@lakeheadu.ca
