Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Christchurch Catholic Youth Team!

CYT ministers to the young people of the Diocese of Christchurch, serving on behalf of the Bishop. We provide training and support to local youth ministries, as well as running retreats, camps, Youth Masses, Praise and Worship, and other dynamic events for young people to encounter God. Our events rely on many wonderful volunteers who generously share their time and talents with their community.

CYT volunteers are youth and young adults (and older adults!) who are passionate about youth ministry and want to help other young people encounter God in their lives. Our volunteers help in all kinds of ways; from playing games to playing music, preparing kai to preparing camps, working behind the scenes to sharing testimonies, and much, much more. Whatever your talent or passion, there’s a place for you!

We embrace all the talents and strengths our volunteers bring to youth ministry, and provide excellent support, formation and opportunities for further training. We are always interested to hear from anyone who is keen to volunteer in their community and who wants to grow and learn more about working with young people.

We want our events and programmes to be safe spaces for everyone. Volunteers are required by law to be vetted by the NZ Police, and we also require volunteers to provide at least two referees/references.
