Registration for December 2019 GCA Community Events
Please fill out this form to register for no more than two of the events listed below. There is limited spacing for each event, please only register if you can attend. More information about each event will be sent to the email you list below around 72 hours prior to your event.   To get all information on the event go to https://www.georgiacyber.org/calendars/all-calendars.   Once events fill to capacity, I will email families that registered to let them know.  Please be sure to go to the GCA Calendar to find out all information on the event.  You must register to attend.

Students that are performing below grade level are limited to 2 (two) field trip excused absences per semester. Prior approval by the FSL is required.  Students are not permitted to participate in field trips that fall on Pre-Test, NWEA MAP, IA, Final Exams, Access, or Milestones EOG/EOC assessment days unless those exams have been previously completed.   *

Rome - Eco Center on Dec. 2nd from 2p – 3:30p.  Students will explore the ECO Center wetlands to obtain information about Earth and its’ attributes. They will investigate the different non-living materials (soil, rocks, water, and air) that are present in a wetland, describe their differences, and group the elements based on their characteristics and physical attributes. The students will also use this time of exploration to compare and contract characteristics of living and non-living organisms, and will sort different object into groups based on their features. After hands-on exploration in the wetland, students will move into the ECO Center to embark on a scavenger hunt of animals. They will then be challenged to group the different animals based on similar characteristics. Free for all.
Event Closed for Registration - Kennesaw - Sparkles Skating Rink.  Skating, Gingerbread & Board Games.  Come join your GCA family as we celebrate and fellowship . Show off your roller skating skills, or learn to roller skate. Bring a board game or cards game to play with your GCA family. Enter your gingerbread house in the Gingerbread contest.  This event is currently on a wait list, you may register below for the wait list.  You may also choose to pay on your own at the site and attend.
Columbus Bowlero -  Dec. 4th – 2p – 3:30p.  Bowling, Gingerbread & Board Games.  Come join your GCA family as we celebrate and fellowship . Show off your bowling skills, or learn to bowl. Bring a board game or cards game to play with your GCA family. Also, show off your gingerbread houses.   High School students will have a special meet-up and activity during this event.  Limited free student tickets (including shoe rental).  We will cover one adult chaperone for bowling, this is optional, please let us know at check in if you would like to bowl.
Savannah - Star Castle Skating Rink Dec. 6th – 10a -12p.  Skating, Science & Gingerbread.   Come join your GCA family as we celebrate and fellowship . Enter your gingerbread house in the Gingerbread contest.    Students will take a journey through our Solar System and discuss what it would be like to build a roller skating rink on different moons and planets. They will discuss engineering challenges with differences in gravity, atmosphere, and temperature. Students will learn that each one of Newton's Three Laws of Motion are present in the skating rink. They will experiment with force and mass and discuss the importance of physics and roller skating. Limited free student tickets. We will cover one adult chaperone for skating, please let us know at check in if you would like to skate.  Skating is optional.
Gainesville - INK Museum & Gingerbread Contest Dec. 9th – 2p – 3:30p.  This Interactive Neighborhood for Kids, has all your child could imagine. Students will be able to pilot a plane, run the medical clinic, become a radiologist or dentist. There's a bank, beauty parlor and so much more for them to have interactive role play.  This field trip is ideal for students between Kindergarten and 5th grade.  Limited free student tickets and one chaperone per family. Additional chaperones can pay $6 at the door. Enter your gingerbread house in the Gingerbread contest.
Athens - Rook & Pawn Dec. 11th – 3p – 4:30p.  Games, Games, and more Games.  Come join your GCA family as we celebrate and fellowship . Show off your gaming skills, or learn to a new game. The site has over 100 board and card games to choose from. Enter your gingerbread house in the Gingerbread contest. The Café will be open for food purchases. The site allows you to eat while you play, but no outside food allowed.  Limited free tickets. All others will be able to pay at the site.  
Atlanta - HS Only - The Winter Wonderland Event Dec. 13th – 2p – 4p.  Students will use the engineering design process to design and build a custom Winter Wonderland “Ice” Structure Scene. What they design and build is up to their imaginations. Event will be hosted at the GCA office. Limited student tickets.  
Chattanooga - Splitz Alley Dec. 16th – 2p – 3:30p. Bowling, Board Games & Gingerbread.  Come join your GCA family as we celebrate and fellowship . Show off your bowling skills, or learn to bowl. Bring a board game or cards game to play with your GCA family. Enter your gingerbread house in the Gingerbread contest.    High School students will have a special meet-up and activity during this event.  Limited free student tickets. We will cover one adult chaperone for those who would like to bowl.
 Macon -Pin Strikes Family Entertainment Center. Dec. 16th – 2p – 3:30p.  Bowling, Gingerbread & Board Games  Come join your GCA family as we celebrate and fellowship . Show off your bowling skills, or learn to bowl. Bring a board game or cards game to play with your GCA family. Enter your gingerbread house in the Gingerbread contest.    High School students will have a special meet-up and activity during this event.  Limited free student tickets. We will cover one adult chaperone for those who would like to bowl.
EVENT CLOSED FOR REGISTRATION -Toys"R"Us Experience. Dec. 18th – 1p – 2:30p.  Only for 5th grade and under. This was a limited ticketed event we will let you know if you are in our initial count.  You may purchase a space on your own directly from the site for the time or around the time we will be there.  Our event is currently full for free tickets and registration. The Toys“R”Us Adventure is a vast indoor wonderlannd that celebrates all the whimsy, silly and FUN of toys and play! Explore over eight mind-blowing rooms featuring brands you know and love. From PAW Patrol pals to Melissa and Doug and beyond, the Toys“R”Us Adventure brings toy boxes to life!  
Valdosta –Jac's Bowling Lanes Dec. 19th -  1p - 2:30p. Bowling, Gingerbread & Board Games  Come join your GCA family as we celebrate and fellowship . Show off your bowling skills, or learn to bowl. Bring a board game or cards game to play with your GCA family. Enter your gingerbread house in the Gingerbread contest.   Limited free student tickets. No cost for chaperones unless bowling.

Please note here if you have high school students that are interested in events with our partners at Renaissance Festival covering the arts, literature and Shakespeare.  These events would include interactive in person sessions with instructors from the site.

Please review this update: We are excited to offer some of our field trips this month at no cost to children and will cover the cost of one adult chaperone, per family, to attend some of the outings. Be sure to preview each one to note if there is a cost for adults to attend. Any additional adults would pay the adult/chaperone rate for the selected location. Please note you must arrive on time to be included in the free price. Please check the box below noting you have read this update. I will send any details needed to all confirmed families for your event. Each event has limited seating so please only register if you are certain of your attendance.  Students are the priority for each tour. *

Please note that you understand that you must respond to confirmation emails to hold your place at events.  There is limited spacing for each event.  For some sites there are a maximums for programming so I will email families to let them know the they have a spot for the event.  Spacing is not guaranteed until you receive a confirmation and you must respond to hold your space by the deadline sent. *
