The fee's for the classroom and behind the wheel driving are as follows: *
Students are required to have 10 hours behind the wheel driving before they can take the Driver’s Ed class at DDHS. By initialing below you are  confirming your acknowledgment of this commitment.
Parent or Guardian understands that they will need to provide the opportunity for the student to practice outside of class with an adult that is at least 21 years of age and has been licensed to drive in Oregon for at least 3 years (please initial). *
The student and an adult are required to be there at the parent meeting. Classes will be on Monday and Tuesday, with some Wednesday dates. Class times will be late in the evenings and are mandatory along with behind the wheel drive time with a class instructor. By initialing below you are  confirming your acknowledgment of this commitment.   *
The minimum requirements to pass Driver Education for DDSD credit and earn an ODOT Certificate of Completion are: 1. 30-36 hours of classroom instruction at 80% proficiency. (Be punctual and ready and willing to learn, bring a pencil, textbook and other course materials are provided) 2. 12-hours of Behind-the-Wheel Driving and Observation. (This will take place on weekdays, and/or weekends.  A driving schedule will be worked out individually with each student.  Students will be assigned in pairs, and are scheduled for 4 to 6 meetings to meet the twelve-hour requirement.  Failure to meet a driving appointment without making prior arrangements is grounds for being dropped from the course.  If there is a problem, talk with the teacher) 3. Five hours of practice driving supervised and documented by a parent or guardian--forms are provided. *AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO PARENTS:  Your student will be learning many essential skills necessary to become a safe and defensive driver.  Practice of these skills is critical to student success.  Practice driving should begin immediately, and continue during and after the Driver Education course.  At home practice is required)  4. A final drive test with a score of 80% or better.  (The final drive test will take place after our last classroom session and is part of our last drive). By initialing below you are  confirming you have read and understood the above. *
