Bundle up and join us for this Very Merry holiday tradition in Perry: the 2023 Lighted Parade in downtown Perry, IA, will be Friday, November 24th - always the day after Thanksgiving! The Perry Chamber of Commerce invites the Perry community to participate in this celebration as an official kick-off to the holiday season... Businesses, community organizations, and jolly community members are encouraged to create lighted floats to join the parade. NEW THIS YEAR: Optional Pre-registration for a chance to WIN a night at the Spectator Suite of an Iowa Wolves or Iowa Wild Game, thanks to Presenting Sponsor Matt & Shanda Carstens Family Foundation!
Perry's Lighted Parade Rules & Regulations:- Keep a safe distance between other parade entries
- Walkers must maintain a steady pace with the flow of the parade to avoid large gaps
- Youth must be supervised by at least two adults
- NO jumping on or off floats once parade begins
- Keep arms and feet within perimeter of vehicle/float
- Candy/items may ONLY be handed out or tossed by WALKERS; NOT TOSSED from vehicles/floats
- Absolutely no hate speech, profanity, or promotion of conflict or violence will be permitted.
Prizes will be awarded to the best, biggest, and brightest parade floats, thanks to Presenting Sponsor Matt & Shanda Carstens Family Foundation!
Line-up begins at 6pm at 2nd & Otley (arrive from the west or south)
Route: Starting at the corner of 3rd & Otley (by Oasis Restaurant), the parade heads north on 3rd Street (by Fareway) and then heads west on Pattee Street, then turns left (south) onto 2nd Street to travel downtown for four blocks before finishing back at the line-up location of 2nd & Otley.
