Community of Practice
This community of practice is for new instructors at the University of Kentucky and is facilitated by Bill Burke, an experienced STEM instructor, and Dr. Hannah Ruehl, an experienced humanities instructor. Whether you’re new to teaching or just new to teaching at UK, this CoP is for you. Meeting once a month over coffee and snacks, each meeting is meant to give you a chance to be in community with other new faculty instructors and grow in your teaching practice. Topics may include: Lecturing tips, creating classroom community, leading good discussions, grading frustrations, teaching portfolio tips, rubrics, teaching evaluations, writing good exam questions, integrating technology. However, any teaching question that concerns the group will be given priority.

Meetings are the first Thursday of the month @ 2:30pm. Starts September 5th.

Located in 502 King Science Library
