Application - Bearcat Launchpad
                                                   

Sponsored by the University of Cincinnati's Center for Entrepreneurship, Bearcat Launchpad is a 5-week business model development program for early-stage students to build their venture idea. The program will take place every Wednesday from 5:30-6:30pm from February 9 through March 9 in the Kautz Attic (4th floor, Lindner College of Business).

 Each week, students will the learn the fundamentals of how to build and test a business model and implement what they learn through the development of their own pitch deck and presentation. Students completing the program will be eligible to apply for a $500 Spark grant, powered by the Fealy Bearcat Bridge Fund, to test and develop their venture further, and will be prepared to apply to the 1819 Innovation Hub’s Venture Lab accelerator where they can receive immersive entrepreneurial training, mentorship and up to $5,000 in funding.

 The program is open to all UC students. Workshops include the following topics:

Feb. 16th: Developing Entrepreneurial Discipline-provides an overview of the business model framework, reviews useful tools and the priority around networking (customer discovery) and organization when developing a venture

Feb. 23rd: Value Proposition- understanding how to define your problem/solution fit, customer segment(s); intro to customer discovery

Mar 2nd: Market Research--overview of primary and secondary research and why both are necessary for venture validation and progress

Mar. 9th: Revenue Streams -reviews monetization strategies for different types of industries/sectors and covers how to create value by innovating beyond your product/service

Mar. 16th: Putting it All Together: Storytelling-reviews how to tell a compelling and concise story; covers how to put together an elevator pitch and pitch deck and best practices for each

Graduates of the Bearcat Launchpad program will be eligible to apply for a $500 Spark grant to advance their venture development. Spark grants can be used to pay for marketing support, prototyping supplies, legal costs, or other areas that allow a student to test the validity of their idea. Spark Grant applications open on March 9 and will be due March 18 with awards announced April 1st.
