It is over 2 years since the implementation of the vaccine direction for healthcare workers in South Australia.

Here at the Nurses' Professional Association of South Australia we believe a revocation of this mandate is well overdue.

Our hospitals are still in crisis and the state of the health system has seen the death of a man waiting for an ambulance on December 27, 2023

We are sending an open letter to Health Minister Chris Picton along with Shadow Health Minister, Anne Ruston with a list of health professionals who are ready, willing and able to work for SA Health to help this workforce shortage.

Our strength is in numbers. Hospitals may be able to get away with individually denying you a position, but they cannot deny hundreds of you across multiple health services and hospitals!

We need to ministers and the Chief Health officer to make their direction to the Local Health Networks clear.

ANMF Federal Secretary, Annie Butler, has said that she believed the number of nurses missing was in the 100s NOT the 1000s.

We know that this is definitely not the case and are hoping that with your help we can prove how many healthcare workers (nurses, midwives, paramedics, doctors etc) were affected Australia wide.
