Project Learning Tree: Curbing Children's Nature Deficit
Presented by: Michelle Youngquist: Idaho PLT State Coordinator, Idaho Forest Products Commission

What can you do about “Nature Deficit Disorder”?

Many kids spend very little time outdoors, and it’s taking a toll on their health and well-being. Research shows that physical and mental health are improved when people have experiences in the natural world. Nature can help children build confidence, calm themselves and focus. In this session, we’ll consider the rise of “nature deficit disorder” and its impacts, and discuss techniques and resources that can help you combat this problem through your work with youth.
