Sheridan Teaching Seminar (Certificate I) Program Fall 2020
If you are interested in joining the Sheridan Teaching Seminar in Reflective Teaching (Certificate I) program for 2020-21, please complete this form. Individuals will be registered for the program as space allows. Participants will be notified of their registration status in August 2020.

Eligible faculty who are interested in this program are encouraged to apply for the Junior Faculty Teaching Fellows program (Fellows participate in the Sheridan Teaching Seminar and receive an award): www.brown.edu/go/jff.

The Sheridan Teaching Seminar (Certificate I) will be offered online during the Fall 2020 semester. The hybrid program consists of four asynchronous online modules and four synchronous Zoom workshops.

Synchronous program dates*

Workshop 1: September 21
Workshop 2: October 19
Workshop 3: November 9
Workshop 4: December 7

In order to accommodate those who may be located in different time zones during the fall, we are offering three different workshop section times: 8:30-10 am ET; 1-2:30 pm ET; 5:40-7:10 pm ET. While we will try to assign participants to their preferred time, space in all workshops is limited. If you are a graduate student who will be located in the U.S. Eastern time zone this fall, we ask that you sign-up for the 5:40 pm workshop as your first choice in order to allow us to prioritize earlier spots for those members of our community who are unable to be in the U.S. this fall.

For additional program details, please see: https://www.brown.edu/sheridan/programs-services/certificates/sheridan-teaching-seminar.

Please note: The program is designed for faculty and graduate students. Postdocs and staff may be admitted on a space available basis.

*This is a learning community-based program, which means you will learn and work with with the same small group of participants in each Zoom workshop. For this reason, regular attendance in assigned workshop groups is required. Participants may miss only one synchronous workshop provided they attend the corresponding Zoom make-up workshop, generally held on the Wednesday after the session. Make-up workshop dates will be listed on the syllabus. Participants may not attend multiple make-up workshops in lieu of attending their assigned workshop with their cohort. Participants who are unable to fulfill the attendance requirements will be ineligible to receive the Certificate.
