Active Horizons will be
delivering Windrush Roadshow workshops around the Bexley borough, particularly aimed
at schools and the community. The aim of the workshop is to celebrate and
commemorate Windrush by raising awareness to young generation through the
lenses of the elders in our community with lived experiences. They will be
sharing their journey of Windrush and how they have helped shaped Britain
today.
As you may be aware on the
22nd June we will be celebrating 75 year anniversary of the arrival
of the Windrush Generation. The arrival of the ship HMT Empire Windrush at
Tilbury docks in 1948, bringing more than 800 passengers from the Caribbean, is
a moment that shaped modern Britain.
