Fall 2022 Zero Waste Ambassador Application
The Zero Waste Ambassadors (ZWA) are a student-led team that works under UVA Office for Sustainability. This group was created to address UVA's ambitious waste minimization goal outlined in the UVA 2020-2030 Sustainability Plan, which calls for decreasing landfilled materials to 30% of 2010 levels. Through peer-to-peer engagement, education, and waste sorting, the ZWAs will help ensure that these goals are met.

Participants are expected to dedicate 3-5 hours per month to help ensure that publicly accessible composting on Grounds runs smoothly. Monthly duties include staffing and overseeing compost stations, tabling, and sorting waste. Though this program is primarily volunteer based, some compensation will be included upon completion of semesterly responsibilities.

ALL APPLICATIONS ARE DUE Friday September 9th by 11:59PM.
You will hear back regarding you application decision within the week, and orientation and first shifts will follow shortly thereafter.

If you have any questions about the ZWA program or the ZWA application, please do not hesitate to reach out! Emails can be directed to Waste Minimization Team Leader Sam Solomon (sws4bm@virginia.edu).
