After months of planning, the Evergreen Initiative is now offering classes in a wide variety of classes for the Summer 2021 Session. These are FREE Courses taught by experienced high-school teachers.

Each class has its own registration form. Filling out the form for one class will only register your child for that class.

About the Course: Have you ever wanted to be a YouTuber, or learn to edit videos? In this course, students will have the opportunity to understand and create their own YouTube video. Students will learn about everything it takes to make a YouTube video, whether it’s a gaming video, vlog-style, or anything else. From scripting to recording the video, cameras and lighting, and editing and posting the video, this course will teach every aspect of video production in a fun way and productive environment.

Course Objectives: By the end of this course, students will be able to
- Use screen-recording software or cameras to properly record a YouTube video
- Use lighting and camera techniques to create a better viewing experience
- Write scripts and speak in an entertaining way to the audience
- Edit videos in iMovie and other software using cuts and music
- Post their videos on Youtube

Materials Needed: Phone or camera, computer with Windows or Mac

About the teacher: Hi, my name is Sameer Raja and I’m a sophomore in high school. I am an avid YouTuber and video producer. My teaching style is different. I love teaching in a fun way where students can interact. Instead of competing with each other, my students collaborate and have fun. I also don’t provide any unesscessary busy-work or homework. After all, it is the students’ summer which they need to enjoy. My love for filmmaking and cinematography has inspired me to create a course to teach others to get started and improve their filmmaking skills. I look forward to seeing you or your student in my Youtube Video Production course this summer.
