The Benard L. Maas Foundation Endowed Medical Fellowship Fund was established at the University of Michigan Medical School in 1989 to recognize and support outstanding graduate students. This award is aimed at supporting professional development opportunities for graduate students, including conference/workshop travel and attendance.

Eligible applicants will be graduate students in good academic standing who are actively pursuing a degree in one of the 14 degree-granting programs within PIBS.

Funds up to $500 may be requested to help reimburse expenses for activities (conference travel, workshop/course registration, membership, etc.) that will enhance your career and professional development in terms of your career exploration, job search skills and development of professional skills.

However, this award may NOT be used toward any scientific or discipline-related conferences, or any other training and activities closely related to the applicant's PhD training.
