Listed below are the services the VRFA will be evaluating during the development of the standard of cover and strategic planning process. We will take a moment prior to asking you to prioritize our services, through a direct comparison process to explain the service to ensure you have a good understanding of each.

Review the following VRFA services:
Community Risk Reduction
- Risk reduction through fire code enforcement, new building plan review, fire safety inspections, and fire prevention activities.

Public Education
- Fire and first aid safety education and other training for the public. Ex: CPR, extinguisher training, grade school programs, car seat sitting, etc.

Fire Investigation
- Determination of origin and cause, including evidence collection, investigation, and prosecution

Domestic Preparedness Planning & Response
- Promotion of awareness, preparation, incident management, and emergency response to terrorist action and natural events such as ice, snow, flooding, earthquake or other human made disasters

Fire Suppression
- Extinguishment of any building, vehicle or equipment fire

Emergency Medical Services
- Emergency Medical response, basic and advanced life support

Technical Rescue
- Rope rescue, surface and swift water and SCUBA, entrapment, confined space, trench, and structural collapse

Hazardous Materials Mitigation
- Emergency incident stabilization of hazardous chemicals and materials released involving critical infrastructure, industrial areas, interstate, and railway.

Wild Fire/Urban Interface Services
- Response and mitigation of any fires in forested or urban interface areas

State/Federal Mobilization
- Any request  for resource assistance in response to large incidents that overwhelm local, county, and state resources
