This form is for placing a custom order for a Jogakbo/Bojagi Curtain.
Jogakbo (조각보) - a traditional Korean work of art, where several pieces of textiles are sewn together to create one large piece; typically used for wrapping and carrying various items and gifts, or to cover food from bugs and dust. In our case, as beautiful and unique curtains!
Bojagi (보자기) - the completed square piece used to wrap items and gifts. Literally translated, it means to wrap and carry luck and fortune.
Turnaround time: 3-5 weeks
Thank you for your patience and understanding with this time frame.
Each curtain is custom made to order -- hand dyed, sewn, and put together by a single designer -- Grace SOL 솔
Sometimes the pieces could be completed sooner, but this is to ensure that no work is rushed and that your custom piece will be finished at its finest.
**Please note that I am only taking a few orders at a time, on a first come first serve basis. You may still submit a form! However, if there has been a cutoff, you will be notified as so.**
Curtain Details:
All of my curtains are typically made with organic European linen - ranging from light to medium weights. If you have other preferences, please make a note in the additional section below.
Colors:
All fibers are naturally dyed in small portions.
And SOL practices a form of 'wabi-sabi', where one can find beauty in imperfections. Nothing is exactly measured to create "perfect" colors, but everything will have a sense of rawness in nature. May you embrace it and take another step closer to the organic world around you.
What exactly does this mean for your curtains?
That no two colors may be exactly the same because everything from the water to the air can affect different shades to appear.
You may also find small imprinted speckles on your fabric, which are from small pieces of plants and woods that were used to dye the fibers. My hope is that if you find these small specks, that you would see and touch them knowing that they were dyed by a set of real hands.
Important to Note:
The beauty of Jogakbo is that no 2 pieces are exactly the same. Each is 1 of 1.
This form is for you to communicate to me your wants and needs for this custom piece. And I will promise to take into sincere consideration each desired detail.
With that being said, I would like to ask that you proceed with this order if you understand that the final piece might not be exactly what you had in mind at first, but even better -- That you are trusting my process and are open to a beautiful surprise!
(This is in regards to colors, patch sizes, and arrangements; The size of the overall piece will be what you ask for.)
Thank you for trusting in me, and I cannot wait to begin this beautiful process with you. ♡
