Biped and Quadruped Stiltwalking Workshop with Laura Astwood
For 2020, we are expanding River Clyde Pageant stilt-walking training to include four-limbed stilt-walking using leg stilts and arm stilts. Transform into a quadruped, and explore a new kind of stilt performance and new possibilities for movement and creation! Four-limbed stilt-walking is limited to participants who have already completed a previous stilt-walking workshop with the Pageant.

During the same sessions, a limited number of participants (4 in total) will learn regular stilt-walking. This workshop is open to people ages 12 and up - no previous experience needed.

All participants will work together on individual movement, partner work and group choreography. This workshop takes place outdoors and indoors in Charlottetown and New Glasgow - locations to be confirmed.

Please note! This year, we are only training participants who are available to perform in the 2020 Pageant. Participants who are available for all performance dates (July 24-26 and July 31-August 2) and can commit to rehearsals once a week in June and twice a week in July will be prioritized for this workshop.

New stilters only - please provide us with the following information:
Height, weight, shoe size, and the measurement around your calf just below the knee (in inches). This information helps us plan stilt sizes, as each pair of stilts can be customized to best suit your measurements.
Do you have any allergies we should know about (eg. food allergies, strong scents, medical allergies)? If yes, please let us know here. Please include any info that will help us provide a safer space (ie. peanut allergy - but severe enough that any peanuts in the room are dangerous).
Do you have any accessibility needs (ie. sensitive to loud sounds or bright lights, difficulty with stairs, living with PTSD, etc)? And if so, is there an ideal way we can support you?
Do you have any other questions or concerns?
Please note: all River Clyde Pageant workshops are offered free of charge. Most workshops have limited capacity and often have a waitlist. We expect that those who register for a workshop are able to attend all or most sessions. If you register for a workshop and you can no longer attend, please email riverclydepageant@gmail.com to withdraw your registration. This ensures that people on our waitlists can have the opportunity to participate. *
