Leadership Hamilton County Schools

Leadership HCS is an opportunity for diverse groups of community stakeholders to experience Hamilton County Schools in a unique way. Participants in the program will experience both the successes and challenges of providing leading support to our students.

The program is designed to:
• Broaden participants’ knowledge of the school district
• Increase the strength and effectiveness of our educational advocates
• Equip participants to respond to the current and future challenges of the school district and public education
• Provide opportunities for direct contact with influential people, schools and district operations

Important Information
Applicants must:
Reside or be employed within Hamilton County Schools boundaries, and be at least 21 years of age at the
time of application. Class members are expected to attend all sessions.
Tuition: $100

Leadership HCS requires full participation.  This program includes seven sessions, beginning in September 2019 and concluding April 2020. Classes are held across the district from 8:00am - 12:00pm.  Food will be provided at each session.

• HCS Vision: District Overview
• Governance in Public Education
• Future Ready Students: Education in the 21st Century
• Principal for a Day
• Efficient and Effective Operations
• HCS Budget

Oct. 15   8:00-12:00
Nov. 19  8:00-12:00
January 14 – 8:00-1:00 (Principal for a Day)
February 11  8:00-12:00
March 10  8:00-12:00
April 14   8:00-12:00

An Application Review Committee will review all applications and select up to 20 participants for the class.
All applicants not selected for the 19/20 program may apply for a future Leadership HCS class, but must reapply.
