If you feel like you've already seen something like this, you have! On PCA's SCC 2024 registration on Zeffy, all registrants are asked to attest to UNDERSTANDING PCA's policy regarding music. Now, this Google Form is collecting each group's AGREEMENT TO FOLLOW the policy.
One of these Google Forms must be filled out completely by January 5, 2024, for each piece of performance music, by an authorized representative from the group performing to that music at PCA Cheerleading event(s) at Sin City Classic 2024.
Simplified, PCA's policy has these two components:
1) performance music must be created, edited, and obtained legally, in accordance with US Copyright law, and 2) the performing group has secured the appropriate license(s) to perform to their music and the license has not expired.
If your group does not attest that music is legal and licensed, your options include: using PCA's generic 8-count track, counting or cheering the routine out loud, or not performing.
PCA will not ask for the license. We are not trained to review actual licenses to screen for falsification. This good-faith attestation is sufficient for PCA events.
PCA's guidelines should not be construed as legal advice. If you have any concerns, we encourage you
to obtain independent legal advice outside of PCA.
