Per State of California law and the expectations set forth by NIHD, your conduct must be above reproach at all times.   At the Sunday staff meeting we will discuss camp guidelines, what to do in the event of an emergency and proper conduct towards students and members of the opposite sex, as required by California state law. I understand that if my conduct in any way violates the standards set forth at this meeting I will be required to leave the camp immediately and will have my pay deducted to the prorated amount of the time served. Will you need on site housing?

If you stay at the conference center in the capacity of a volunteer or small group lab leader, then you will be expected to assist the NIHD Housing Coordinator as a hall monitor, which will entail keeping the boys on the boy’s side and girls on girl’s side, making sure students are in their rooms at the lights out time, that they don’t wander off, and any other assistance that the Coordinator requests. There will be a mandatory housing meeting that you must attend on Monday Night (in addition to the Sunday and Wednesday night meetings.) Compensation for NIHD includes housing, meals, and payment on a per-project basis. Airfare or other transportation expenses will not be reimbursed unless a specific arrangement has been made beforehand. Lab leaders will make between $200 and $300. A lab leader that completes all the mandatory requirements (leading a small group, leading a lab group, writing cases, judging and teaching 2 classes) will make $200. In order to incentivize lab leaders to go above and beyond, there are bonuses that can bring your pay to $300. Lab leaders will not make more than $300 except if approved by Griffith Vertican.    *Failure to complete the tasks expected of a lab leader will result in prorated pay (possibly below $200). This includes, but is not limited to, failure to submit cases or submitting them late, failure to attend sessions or small groups, and failure to judge.) (Initial in box)
