On behalf of the Department of Agricultural and Human Sciences, the Department of Food, Bioprocessing and Nutrition, the Genetic Engineering Society (GES) Center, and the Science and Technologies for Phosphorus Sustainability (STEPS) Center, graduate students across NC State University are invited to submit abstracts for poster presentations at the inaugural Sustainable Agri-Food Technology Summit (SAFTS), which will be held May 21st, 2024 in the Plant Sciences Building at NC State.
The goal of the summit is to bring together diverse stakeholders around the role of new and novel agri-food technologies in securing sustainable food systems in North Carolina and beyond. These technologies can include gene-edited products, cell-cultured meats, and other biotechnological innovations around food and agricultural products. We are seeking student research at the intersection of the social, environmental, and economic impacts of sustainability within emerging agricultural biotechnologies and novel foods. Poster presenters will be given the opportunity not only to showcase their research, but to network with stakeholders across academic, industry, and government sectors.
Poster submissions are due by April 30th. All poster presenters must register for the conference by April 30th and indicate in their registration they will be presenting a poster.
