Qualifications
• Has interest and ability to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with children and their families.
• Has commitment to Christian education and outreach.
• Enjoys working with children.

***SPECIFIC VBS VOLUNTEER POSITIONS***
Crew Leader, Crew Leader Assistant, Junior Crew Leader (all work together)
Responsibilities
• Pray for the success of our VBS.
• Review the Bible stories, the Take-Home Points, the Bible Memory Verses, and the daily Collectible so you can tell the Word of God accurately and communicate the daily themes.
• Arrive at least 15 minutes before event to welcome participants to the Opening sessions.
• Supervise, support, lead, and care for kids in a small group.
• You may be asked to have adults sign the kids in your group in and out of VBS each day. If so, this would happen before Opening and after Closing.
• Pick up and return your small-group’s supplies each day and at sites, as needed.
• Lead your small group to do activities at each site.
• Use the Take-Home Point often and connect your activities with the Bible story of the day.

Large Group/Bible Challenge Rotation Station Song Leader
Responsibilities
• Pray for the success of our VBS.
• Review the Bible stories, the Take-Home Points, the Bible Memory Verses, and the daily Collectible so you can communicate the Bible stories and daily themes.
• Teach songs and song actions at Openings, Closings, and Bible Challenge Rotation Station sessions.
• Practice as needed.
• Use the Take-Home Point often and connect your activities with the Bible story of the day.

Puppeteer
Responsibilities
• Pray for the success of our VBS.
• Review the Bible stories, the Take-Home Points, the Bible Memory Verses, and the daily Collectible so you can tell the Word of God accurately and communicate the daily themes.
• Rehearse as needed with Opening/Closing Leader(s).

AV Computer
Responsibilities
• Pray for the success of our VBS.
• Be capably trained to use ProPresenter and PowerPoint applications (and CD/DVD playing and/or access in-house network files when necessary) on Windows PC or Mac Laptop.
• Arrive at least 30 minutes before event to set up and test equipment.
• Review published event script to be best prepared for event sequences.
• Attention to details, familiarity with event structures.
• Willingness to ably communicate with musicians, speakers, and fellow volunteers.

AV Soundboard
Responsibilities
• Pray for the success of our VBS.
• Be capably trained to use Midas soundboard in Sound Room or xxx in Gym and associated mics and related equipment.
• Arrive at least 30 minutes before event to set up and test equipment.
• Review published event script to be best prepared for event sequences (mics used, etc).
• Attention to details, familiarity with event structures.
• Willingness to ably communicate with musicians, speakers, and fellow volunteers.

Praise Band
Responsibilities
• Pray for the success of our VBS.

• Arrive at least [see C. Schlicker] minutes before event to set up and test equipment.
• Attention to details, familiarity with event structures.
• Willingness to ably communicate with musicians, speakers, and fellow volunteers.

Classroom Aide
Responsibilities
• Pray for the success of our VBS.

• Arrive at least 15 minutes before event to set up with Rotation Station Leader.
• Willingness to ably communicate with other volunteers and participants.

Snack Assistant
Responsibilities
• Pray for the success of our VBS.
• Review the Bible stories, the Take-Home Points, the Bible Memory Verses, and the daily Collectible so you can communicate the Bible stories and daily themes.
• Arrive at least 15 minutes before the event to set up with the Rotation Station Leader.
• Serve snacks and repeat the Bible Story connections frequently.
• Help kids make theme-related snacks.
• Clean up the Rotation Station area after participants have left.
• Willingness to ably communicate with other volunteers and participants.

Decorator
Responsibilities
• Pray for the success of our VBS.
• Decorate group and common areas to visually communicate the VBS theme prior to Monday night.
• Willingness to ably communicate with other volunteers.

Supply Acquisition
Responsibilities
• Pray for the success of our VBS.
• Fulfill supply lists for Rotation Station Leaders, as instructed by VBS Director.
• Make responsible decisions in buying, so to not go over the budget.
• Submit receipts for proper reimbursement/record keeping.

Registration/Check-In Assistant
Responsibilities
• Pray for the success of our VBS.
• Process participants to get name tags the first night and get to the right group.
• Help new participants enter data on iPads, and assign kids to groups before entering.
• Take attendance during the first Rotation Session.

Nursery Attendant
Responsibilities
• Pray for the success of our VBS.
• Provide a caring, well-supervised environment for young children while family members work as VBS volunteers.
• Be available to serve in another capacity if there are no kids to attend to in the Nursery.
