Eduard Pou e Pau Rodríguez, da banda catalã ZA!, dirigem este workshop, apoiados nas linguagens e teorias de improvisação musical conduzida, surgidas nas décadas de 70 e 80 do século XX e em artistas como Butch Morris, Walter Thompson e John Zorn.

Na música popular contemporânea entende-se que a improvisação é mutável consoante o estilo musical – cada género tem a sua própria estética, com recursos e ornamentações próprias – sendo que todos concordam que a improvisação é uma expressão individual dentro de um contexto de grupo.

Aqui a improvisação proposta é a de grupo, centrada no discurso criado no momento e baseada numa linguagem gestual que cada músico interpretará com total liberdade.
O workshop culminará num Concerto aberto à comunidade, onde os músicos participantes tocarão em conjunto com Eduard Pou e Pau Rodríguez.

De seguida, ZA! sobem a palco como duo, para um concerto onde darão a conhecer as novas sonoridades construídas desde que os ouvimos pela última vez, em 2017, em Lagos.

NOTA:
Cada participante deve trazer o seu próprio instrumento e – quando aplicável – respectiva amplificação, cabos de ligação e/ou outros elementos necessários.

Eduard Pou e Pau Rodríguez, from the Catalunya band ZA!, run this workshop, drawing from languages and conducted musical improvisation theories from the 70s and 80s of the XXth century, and based on artists like Butch Morris, Walter Thompson and John Zorn.

In contemporary popular music it is understood that improvisation is changeable according to music style – each genre has its own aesthetics, with resources and ornaments of its own – being that everyone agrees that improvisation is an individual expression within a group context.

Here the proposal is of a group improvisation, centred in the speech created in the moment, and based on a sign language each musician will be performing with total freedom.

The workshop will culminate in an open concert to the community, presenting the outcomings of this process, where participant musicians will play together with Eduard Pou and Pau Rodriguez.

Following this concert, ZA! will take the stage as a duo, for a performance where they will present the new sonorities they have created since we last listen to them, in Lagos in 2017.

NOTE:
Each participant must bring their own instrument and - when applicable - respective amplification, connecting cables and / or other necessary elements.

Compreendendo e valorizando tanto o trabalho dos artistas como a importância das práticas culturais remuneradas, estas formações têm o valor de inscrição de €30,00.

Tendo também em conta o momento presente e a instabilidade financeira associada ao sector da Cultura, o Verão Azul disponibiliza Bolsas de Formação para os eventuais interessados cujo único factor de impedimento à participação seja o valor associado à inscrição.

CRITÉRIOS ATRIBUIÇÃO DE BOLSA
Serão privilegiados os artistas ou profissionais das artes locais (região do Algarve) com o perfil adequado à Formação na qual se inscreve., assim como a disponibilidade para realizar a oficina na totalidade do seu horário.

Serão disponibilizadas 4 Bolsas de Formação por Workshop.

O Verão Azul reserva-se o direito à atribuição arbitrária da Bolsa de Formação, assim como o direito à não atribuição de qualquer Bolsa de Formação, caso não sejam recebidas candidaturas que se enquadrem nos critérios desse mesmo benefício.

Understanding and valuing both the work of the artists and the importance of paid cultural practices, these workshops have a registration fee of €30,00.

Also considering the present moment and the financial instability associated with the Culture sector, Verão Azul offers 4 Grants for any interested parties whose only impediment to participation is the registration fee.

CRITERIA FOR GRANT
Local artists or professionals (Algarve region) with the appropriate profile for the training in which they are enrolled will be privileged, as well as full availability to carry out the workshop during their entire schedule.

There will be made available 4 Training Grants for each workshop.

Verão Azul reserves the right to arbitrarily award the Grant, as well as the right not to award, if there are not received any applications that meet the criteria for that benefit.
