2023 Code Jam Leadership Application
Hello! Thank you for your interest in planning Code Jam 2023. Please read through this list of the positions available and the responsibilities expected of each position before continuing!

Director of Finances: Seek funding for the event through corporation grants/sponsorships or fundraisers. Budget funds raised for all necessary expenses of the event, and plan the menu accordingly. Ensure all required materials are ordered on time and all purchasers are promptly reimbursed. Requires persuasiveness, confidence, and money management skills.

Director of Logistics: Ensure that event participants have fun. Create icebreaker/time-filler games. Keep track of event interest and sign-ups, participant allergies/special needs, and participants leaving early/coming late. Communicate with school offices for required participant paperwork. Requires social awareness, emotional intelligence, and patience with paperwork.

Director of Human Resources: Secure relevant, quality speakers, workshop leaders, and judges for the event and maintain communication with them leading up to the event. Plan the event schedule to ensure each person has enough time to set up, present their content, and clean up. Requires confidence in communicating with adults, adeptness in business emails, and scheduling skills.

Director of Projects: Plan out the details of the hackathon's competition aspect, including rules, categories, and theme. Work with Director of Finance to plan for winner prizes as well. Requires planning skills and creativity; prior hackathon experience recommended (you can attend one after applying, though).

Director of Publicity: Create cohesive, attractive graphics to publicize for the event. Plan out a publicity schedule and ensure team members post on time. Seek additional opportunities to further publicize the event. Coordinate to have cameras recording video and photos of the event, and ensure proper retrieval of the material after the event. Requires skill in graphic design, social media savviness, and video recording & editing ability (or you can outsource to people you know with those skills).
