Application Essay Question 1:   Why do you feel you are a good candidate for this program?  Tell me specifically what you will bring to the table of this training/coaching/mentorship program.  How will your participation benefit the group?  How will your participation benefit YOUR local community that you plan to work with?  Tell me about that community and your connections to it now.  Tell me what you would like to do within this community.  What do you see as your primary goal as a perinatal professional? Why is this program a good fit for you? *
Application Essay Question 2:   This program will, at times, require a level of commitment that results in negotiating other aspects of your life. These commitments may be financial, social, or personal.  How will you navigate these challenges, remembering that similar challenges are likely to come up in your life as a birth professional as well.  How do you plan to create a sustainable work/life/fun balance so this work lifts you up (instead of being dragged down by it)?  The time spent in this program is your opportunity to put this into practice *before* you begin this work fulltime (or as you continue it in a new perspective). How will you begin creating healthy habits and hold all the boundaries you need to function at your best? *
Application Essay Question 3:  Live/on-line doula programs have ranged in recent years from $ 400 - $3000 dollars. Coaching programs range from $100-3500 an hour.  With a combined 40 years of experience, your leadership team is ready to share their professional skills and lived experience with the work.  This program provides both doula/birth educator/perinatal professional training AND holistic coaching for you.  It is wellness-based and proactive in nature, reflects, in many ways, the pregnancy journey as a way of modeling form and function, intends to create community and build one another up.  Your participation in this program requires significant contributions and dedication from you.  Understand that YOUR investment in the program is key to your overall success.   This program is only for those who see 30 hours of instructional time and involvement with homework of readings, videos and synchronous Zoom calls and community building as something to get excited about.  If that sounds like a slog, this is probably not the right program for you and we would be happy to make some other suggestions.  If you do join this program we expect to see you, video on, prepared with the assigned materials, on every call. *
