Community Feedback 2024-2025 CMS Calendar

Greetings Cloudcroft families and community members,

As we approach the planning phase for the academic year 2024-2025, we are pleased to present four calendar options for your review.

The status of our favored four-day school week remains uncertain as we await a collective decision from the involved school districts, pending legal deliberations. While we remain hopeful for the continuity of our current schedule, it is imperative to adhere to state directives until a definitive resolution is reached. We anticipate receiving clarity on this matter, ideally by the conclusion of May; however, it is essential to acknowledge that legal processes can be protracted, and a conclusive outcome may not materialize until later in the summer.

In light of this uncertainty, it is necessary to proceed with preparations for both a four-day and a five-day school week calendar for board approval.

The five-day week calendar must meet dual criteria: students are required to attend a minimum of 180 instructional days and accumulate a total of 1140 instructional hours.

Additional details regarding the five-day week calendar include:

  • Inclusion of a parent-teacher conference day each semester within the 180 instructional days. Students are not mandated to attend on these days, instead, parent teacher conferences will take place on these days.
  • Incorporation of three additional days into the calendar to accommodate potential school closures due to inclement weather. In the event that all allocated snow days remain unused, these days will be designated as additional days off at the end of the semester. Conversely, if snow days are utilized during the academic year, there will be no requirement to extend the school year to compensate for these closures.

We kindly request your feedback on next year's calendar options.

Thank you for your attention and engagement in this important decision-making process.
