In light of the harassment of Marchers and the blatant spread of misinformation by all forms of media, particularly digital, Aurat March Lahore will only allow authorised media persons to cover the Aurat March 2022, taking place on March 8, 2022. In order to apply for accreditation to cover the day of the March, please apply using this form. YOU WILL RECEIVE A CONFIRMATION EMAIL 2 DAYS BEFORE THE MARCH AND YOUR PRESS CARD WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THE MEDIA DESK AT THE MARCH. PLEASE BRING IDENTIFICATION TO GET YOUR PRESS PASS ON THE DAY OF THE MARCH.
GROUND RULES FOR JOURNALISTS/MEDIA COVERING MARCH:
1. No harassment or bullying of Marchers will be tolerated. Any person found to harassing attendees will be asked to immediately leave.
2. All media is asked to respect the privacy of Marchers--if someone does not wish to be photographed, filmed or interviewed, respect their choice.
3. Do not film, record or photograph anyone without their consent.
4. Do not disrupt the flow of the March.
5. We will prefer to have cis women, khawaja sira, trans gender, and non-binary folks to cover the march and would appreciate if you send sensitised media persons from your media outlet.
INFORMATION ABOUT THE MARCH:
Aurat March Lahore is a feminist collective consisting of cis women, transgender and non-binary folks who stand against patriarchal structures which results in sexual, economic and structural exploitation.
Aurat March Lahore’s three core principles are:
1. No NGO funding or affiliation
2. No corporate funding or affiliation
3. No political party alliance or affiliation.
