Trailsplus manage 12-19 trail running events during a normal year.
Of course 2020 is not a normal year. COVID-19 has changed many things from our normal ways, and things will be a little different for sometime.
Our reasons for facilitating runs in beautiful locations like Marysville is to bring people together for adventures and to create great memories and to support local communities. Since March we have cancelled 8 events and likely to cancel more pending government directions.
MARYSVILLE has always been different and special and its one we are investigating as an exception to our rule of not doing virtual events and making it a virtual for 2020. The main focus here is to be able to continually provide support to the local community and emergency services through donations from the events profit. We have a fairly simple approach to this proposal.
You will be required to choose an event distance and complete the distance during a specified period, likely to be between November 1st to 31st, which ever date suits you best. We will specify the basic rules, distances and elevation minimum required to keep some sense of consistency to the challenge.
You will be required to submit your results via an electronic form and if you want your results to be officially recognised for the podium, you will need to submit a link to your GPS file. Only those who submit their GPS file can podium. If possible we have an App that is required to record your run.
All competitors will receive a special COVID-19 virtual edition medal posted during December. Trophies will also be posted, complete with Winners name and time. A custom tee shirt can also be order if you would like one. We are working with some sponsors to see if any addition prizes might be available.
