ASD Smart Snacks in Schools - Exempt Fundraiser Request
The Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act of 2010 required USDA to establish nutrition standards for all foods sold on school grounds the school day. These standards are referred to as the Smart Snacks in Schools Standards.
Submit Exempt Fundraiser request at least one (1) week in advance of the fundraiser exemption.
USDA regulations allows five (5) exempt fundraisers for elementary & middle schools.
USDA regulations allows ten (10) exempt fundraisers for high schools.
Exempt fundraisers
may not
be sold in the food service area or during the meal periods.
Exempt fundraisers may not exceed one week (5 consecutive school days).
Exempt fundraisers must be approved by Child Nutrition Services.
