For the first time in 2019, we are offering an opportunity for students from primary and high schools to experience the workshops and shows at the Australian Dance Festival for a fraction of the price. Over the years, we have received feedback from dance teachers in primary and high schools who want their students to participate in the Australian Dance Festival, however, the 3 day event and the associated costs make it difficult for them to organise school excursions.
We have addressed this by dedicating Thursday 19th September to students from primary and high schools. The cost is just $30 per student and includes the following program:
Date: Thursday 19th September
Venue: Sydney Olympic Park Quaycentre
Time: 1.30pm - 10pm
Cost: $30 per student
Schedule:
1.30pm: Arrive & Register at the Sydney Olympic Park Quaycentre
2pm - 2.30pm: Warm up with DJ Jazzy (amazing role model for young students)
2.30pm -4.45pm: Workshops with
Alyssa Casey (sponsored by Lee Academy)
Jessica Smithson (sponsored by TNSPA.Pro) &
Briden Starr (sponsored by Village Nation)
4.45pm - 5.30pm: Afternoon Tea (BYO) during Q&A with DJ Jazzy: What's it like, and what does it take to have a career in the Performing Arts Industry
5.30pm - 7pm: Break for Dinner (Students will be responsible for bringing or buying their own meals). Food outlets will be open in the Sydney Olympic Park vicinity
7pm: Cheer on other school students as they compete in the Resonate Dance Competition, and then perform in the Closing Ceremony with the choreography you learned from the workshops.
