This seven-day sesshin will be led by Hozan Alan Senauke.  It will be conducted both in person and online.

Participants are expected to attend for a minimum of 3 days, of which at least 2 are consecutive.  Daily schedule will be from 6:00 am to 5:30 pm.

Over the course of the seven days we will have two ceremonies:

  • Buddha's Enlightenment Ceremony on Saturday, December 9; and
  • Shosan Ceremony with Abbot Hozan Alan Senauke on December 10.
Breakfast and lunch will be served in the zendo in the traditional oryoki form, see below for details.

Suggested donation is $35 a day for in-person participants, or $15 online (or whatever you can pay). When paying for sesshin, please indicate in the PayPal note field (or on your check) that your donation is related to the 2023 Rohatsu sesshin:

PLEASE NOTE:  Several recent sesshin participants have tested positive for COVID.   During Rohatsu, for the sake of the health of our sangha members, we are encouraging everyone to wear a K94, KN95 or N95 mask indoors -- however masking will be optional. We will use a social distancing standard of 3-4 feet.  Zendo windows will be kept open, and the air filters will be run during all breaks.  We also require that all participants test for COVID within 48 hours before your initial arrival at the zendo, either a rapid antigen test or PCR, preferably the evening before or the morning of your first day.
