Title: Understanding Your Own Cultural Identity and the Impact of Systemic Racism on Education

Speaker: Jessica Pepple, Ed.S., MBA, Regional Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the tri-towns of Norfolk, Wrentham, and Plainville Public Schools

Description: Participants will be able to understand and identify how unconscious bias can affect educators’ perceptions of students; to explain how debiasing techniques work to counter-stereotypic imaging, promote individuation, perspective-taking, and opportunities for contact. Additionally, participants will be trained to identify and dismantle the different forms of systemic and interpersonal racism that are present in the school system.
