Horizons at Carolina Day Volunteer Application
Horizons at CDS is a year round enrichment program with a focus on making summer fun and productive. The mission of Horizons at CDS is to help improve the life trajectory of students from under-served communities by creating opportunities for them to expand their joy of learning, skills for success, and inspiration to realize their dreams. Horizons students qualify for free and reduced lunch, and they reflect the diversity of the Asheville community. When they first come to Horizons, most students are performing below grade level. Our six week summer program includes project-based learning in reading, math & science, as well as dance, art, music, swimming, and field trips. Volunteers and interns will have a chance to interact with students and support the program in a variety of meaningful ways. All who join the Horizons family can expect an enriching, hands on, joyful, and potentially life-changing experience.

The 2021-2022 Horizons at CDS School-Year Program runs on various Saturdays from October 23rd-May 14th. Volunteer hours are 8:45 am-2:15 pm. For special time arrangements, contact nhunter@cdshorizons.org.
