For this survey, we're distinguishing
* Quotations: taken from a published source, usually presented with attribution, often shorter
* Illustrations (Section NNN): stories and anecdotes, often longer, more about the point they make than who said them

Our interest in this survey is quotations from outside the Bible itself (not Biblical texts, or one part of the Bible quoting another).
