406 Compost is a new business service by 406 Recycling, a local Helena company that provides "ZERO Waste" collection services for events, including large festivals around the state. With changes due to COVID 19, we have been collecting food waste from Helena Food share to be composted with worms by YES Compost over the last few months. We are now able to collect food waste using our existing collection routes for electronics recycling in Gallatin County and thus avoid additional travel. We are now pleased to utilize our expertise and capacity to provide food waste collection to the Helena area. This immediately includes a bi-weekly household collection program for a limited number of Helena residents with additional programs beginning August 31st, including more frequent service options and collection for businesses. Most food waste and compostable items such a cups and utensils can be accepted in partnership with YES Compost of Belgrade and their vermiculture program.
